The request below is from Cary Kemp at OPM. Cary is doing research into the mentor/mentee relationship and needs more folks to fill out the survey. If you've had difficulty accessing the survey in the past, please try again. If you continue to have problems, give Cary a call at the number below.

Please take the time to fill out the survey. This will help OPM make the PMF program even stronger.

Dear PMF alumni,

**Please note that this message is only applicable to current federal employees**

The U.S. Office of Personnel Management's Presidential Management Fellows (PMF) Program Office is sponsoring research on fit between mentor-mentee pairs. This research involves surveying mentor-mentee pairs in the federal workforce, and will add greatly to our understanding of mentoring effectiveness among current PMFs and PMF/PMI alumni.

For the purpose of this research, a mentor can be formal or informal, and is broadly defined as a more experienced colleague who helps a colleague (his/her mentee) navigate in his/her world of work. This can be a current mentor, or a mentor you have had in the past. If you have had a mentor, you are invited to complete this survey. The survey asks you about your learning preferences and your experiences with a current or past mentor. It takes approximately 20 minutes to complete (please respect your agency and supervisor's policies regarding completing this survey on work time).

To investigate mentor-mentee fit, this research requires sending a complimentary survey to your mentor. Therefore you will be asked to provide the e-mail address of your mentor towards the end of the survey. Your responses will be confidential - they will not be shared with your mentor, or with any other individual. E-mail addresses will be stripped from the dataset and replaced with random identification numbers.

Please take a few minutes to participate in this research! Because it is difficult to collect data from pairs of individuals, little is known about what makes mentors and mentees work well together. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the researcher, Cary Kemp, at cary.kemp at opm.gov<about:blank> or 202-606-2835. Alternatively, you may contact John Wilson in the PMF program office at john.wilson at opm.gov<about:blank> or 202-606-3744.

**Again, please only complete this survey if you are a current federal employee**
