Dear Agency PMF Alum:
We would appreciate your time and expertise to serve as a PMF Assessment
Panel member in Washington, DC for 2005!
There are three components to the Presidential Management Intern (PMF)
Assessment Center: an individual presentation, a group presentation, and a
writing exercise. The PMF Assessment Center process will entail a
three-member panel comprised of one representative from the U.S. Office of
Personnel Management (OPM) and two representatives from Federal agencies.
The three-member panel will observe and evaluate PMF candidates on the
individual presentation and the group discussion. The writing exercise will
be evaluated separately by different assessors. The PMF Assessment Center
process is unique in the Washington, DC area because of the large number of
students requesting to be assessed and the fact that we are operating
several Assessment Centers daily.
Volunteers for the DC assessment process should be at the GS-12 or higher
grade levels and possess strong analytical, observational and note-taking
skills. They can be from any career field within the agency, including
human resources.
We will hold the first DC based training this Monday and Tuesday, December
6th and 7th, at the Marvin Center on the GWU campus, and there will be two
additional training sessions in early Januaryone the week of the 3rd and
one the week of the 10th. The first training day will begin at 8:30 a.m.
and will conclude at 4:00 p.m. and the second day will begin at 8:30 a.m.
and will conclude at noon. Information on the specific training locations
will be provided soon. It is important that all agency assessors attend one
of the Assessor training because attendance at the session will be required
for participation in this years process.
A nomination form is attached. Please send a completed copy to me at
joi.brown at opm.gov. You can also fax it to me at (202) 606-0264. Please
return all volunteer nomination forms as soon as possible.
The PMF Program has been fortunate to have the support of the Federal
community in the past, and we appreciate your continued interest and
participation. Once a volunteer has been scheduled for a specific date to
serve on a PMF Assessment Center panel, it is imperative that he or she
participate in accordance with the schedule. This will minimize disruption
and assure that the candidates experience a fair, smooth-running assessment
process.
Thank you!
