Dear PMI Alumni:

My name is Lynn Matherly and a PMI alumnus from the Class of 2000.
I am contacting you because exciting changes are ahead for the PMI
program and the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) would like to
request your assistance.

OPM has forwarded a new Executive Order to
the President for signature which proposes significant changes to the
Presidential Management Intern (PMI) Program. If the President
signs the new Executive Order, the PMI Program will be revitalized as the
new Presidential Management Fellows (PMF) Program. Coincident with
the name change will be several proposed revisions to the program's
regulations. These changes are designed to enhance the program's
prestige and its ability to attract top new talent to address the Federal
Government's pending human capital challenges. In doing so, the new
PMF Program will become a cornerstone of the government's succession
planning efforts, thereby helping to ensure continuity of effective
leadership into the future.

To formally announce these changes and to celebrate the PMIs, past and
present, themselves, a rollout event is being planned by the PMI program
office. At this event, the current classes of PMIs will be sworn in as
Presidential Management Fellows. The theme is Presidential
Management Fellowship: Answering the Call to Leadership.

We are asking PMI alumni who are still with the Federal Service to
provide us with a current bio, press release quality photo or digital
picture, PMI class year, and a narrative about a special accomplishment
from your career that stands out to you. The photo and your bio
will be part of a PMI profiles montage. Some of the speakers at the
event may specifically cite the accomplishments of former PMIs in their
speeches.

The PMI profiles montage will be shown as a loop while guests are being
seated. The goal of the montage is to profile PMIs from as many
classes as possible and celebrate their accomplishments and commitment to
Government Service.

We would appreciate your participation and assistance with this
endeavor. We ask that you let us know if you are willing to
participate as soon as possible. If you will participate, please
forward your information to us in electronic format to the below listed
email address by October 1. If you do not have a current
photo, we hope some agencies have a digital camera that can be used to
assist us with this effort. If you are unable to send us the
information in an electronic format we request that you forward the
information via regular mail to my attention at the following

forward us any contact information you may have on them. We are
trying to get a large representation from many different classes and
agencies. This is very much a networking exercise and we are
working with a very short timeline, we need any and all help you can give
us.
